@Phil: My suggestion would be to make note of what you like about your current seat and what you don't like about it. Are there any bothersome pressure points? If so, where are they? Also make note of the slope of the seat. Some seats force one's ahem unmentionables into the tank. If you're a distance rider, how does your rear end feel after several hours in the stock seat? When does the pain start, and where does it hurt?

Make sure to include honest descriptions of your physical shape. Is your rear end bony or does it have padding? Your weight would probably be helpful as well.

All this sounds like a lot of minutia, but Don can't work miracles without something to go on, and the more details he has the better the end result will be.

I am currently getting the info together to get Don to make me one of his custom seats for my new F650GS twin. What would you suggest I give him in addition to the photos and measurements he asks for to do a seat through the mail? I can't very well ride there to have it done, being from Atlanta, GA. but I want him to have as much input from me as he needs to get mine just right.

I'm going to have to schedule Elvira into Don's place. Since he moved into the back of the accessory store, I literally live within a half mile or less. Convenient, huh? The SV seat looks really nicely done!
