The Future May Be Now For Motorcycle Visors

by Stacy on November 18, 2008

WebBikeWorld recently posted an exclusive report on Akuma’s new Gemini Visor. This may be the best thing to hit motorcycling since the internal combustion engine. Yes, I really am stoking the hype machine with this one, but take a look at this video and then tell me you’re not a little bit excited:

The best part? Akuma has designed this as an insert applied to the visor rather than something built into the visor itself. I’m hoping this means they are planning on producing kits that will fit most visors, instead of forcing us to buy new Akuma helmets. (Sorry Akuma, it’s going to take a lot to pry my Shark out of my hands!)

The second best part is that the insert is very similar in concept to the ProGrip anti-fog visor insert, and Akuma has indicated the Gemini insert shares the same anti-fog capabilities. Bradley over at Troubadour on a Triumph tipped me off to ProGrip a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been looking for one ever since. A visor that can tint itself in sunlight and also prevents fogging on the cold days? Sign me up now!
