I’ve found the solution to our ice and snow problem: slidescooters.

The concept is simple. Take one scooter. Replace the front wheel with a short snowboard and the rear wheel with a low-pressure tire wearing 300 studs.

The result looks like this:

slidescooter wheelie

ruckus turned slidescooter

The company that makes this particular conversion kit is called BROS Riminimoto. Most of their focus is on Europe for now, but they have plans to bring their slidescooter riding course to the US in the future.

Here’s a video of a slidescooter in action.

Unfortunately, their website also says these slidescooters are not designed for urban use. It’s a good thing Corvallis is about a million people short of being called an urban area. But now I’m curious: let’s think of some reasons why these shouldn’t be ridden on the road.

I have seen some pretty nifty mods for a Ruckus, but that one is COOL!

Ms. Stacy: Got to admit that this does look like fun! Then A Quad is fun in the snow also. If I could only afford one to play with that is.

THANKS FOR THE NICE COMMENT… RIDE A SLIDESCOOTERS IT’s REALLY FUN… BY THE WAY LET ME TELL YOU THAT WHAT IS REALLY GREAT ABOUT THIS INVENTION ARE NOT THE SLIDESCOOTERS ( BECAUSE THAT’S THE NAME WE GAVE TO THIS ACTIVITY )but the SKS SNOW KIT SOLUTION… that’s all what you need to turn your own scooter in a slidescooter.
