I was hoping to have a write-up on my new Slime Power Sports Tire Inflator ready for posting this morning, but this weekend was so busy that it’ll have to wait until tomorrow.
Speaking of this weekend, the weather was wonderful! I think we even hit 80° on Sunday. The sunshine brought motorcycles out in droves. It also brought out the rust that lurks behind every garage queen and fair weather rider. Between the Harley guy who killed his bike a couple of times right in front of us to the Goldwing rider down on I-5, it’s a good reminder that spring is a time of danger wrapped in sunshine.
I’d like to take a moment to highlight one of the better new motorcycling blogs I’ve found recently: Better Motorcycling, a blog focused on motorcycling safety written by Ruben Torres, a 20 year police veteran, crash reconstruction specialist, and moto unit officer. With a resume like that, one could guess that the content would be worth reading, and it is.
Better Motorcycling has covered safety topics like throttle control, slow speed riding skills, and tire traction. Last week, Ruben published a terrific set of posts reconstructing and analyzing a motorcycle crash from a video posted on YouTube: What do you think? and his step-by-step Video Analysis.
IMHO, great blogs are the ones that draw readers into a world they’d otherwise have no chance to explore. Thanks to Ruben’s efforts, we can all experience a little of the world of motorcycle police officers and crash reconstruction, while learning something along the way.
