I so enjoyed hearing from everyone who entered my Versatool contest that I immediately started plotting my next giveaway. This time, there are two prizes up for grabs, and two different ways to win.

Prize #1: A Copy of Proficient Motorcycling, by David Hough

proficient motorcycling

To enter the drawing for Prize #1, leave a genuine, non-spammy comment on this blog sometime before the entry period ends on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 at 11:59:59 PM PST. Now, I love comments as much as the next blogger, but only one comment per person will count as an entry so multiple comments won’t increase your chances of winning this prize. And, make sure to enter a valid email address when leaving your comment or your entry will be disqualified because that’s the way I’ll be contacting the winners.

One more thing! If you happened to leave a comment anytime during the entire month of August 2009, you’re already entered. Good job!

On September 16th, 2009, I will randomly draw the winner from the pool of entries and notify them of the good news.

(Note that in the not-unlikely occurrence that the winner of this contest already has a copy of this fine book, I’ll substitute an Amazon.com gift certificate of the equivalent value if the winner so chooses.)

Prize #2: a $10 Amazon.com Gift Certificate

Prize #2 will be awarded to the author of the best comment. Yes, I am the judge. And what does this judge like? Informative comments always catch my eye, as do witty ones. A wittily informative comment might be your ticket to a win — or it might not. Consider this prize a reward for putting yourself out there. Unlike Prize #1, the more extremely entertaining comments you make, the more chances you’ll have to be picked.

On September 16th, I will select the best comment from the received entries and send notice to the winner.

And Now It’s Time For Some Fine Print

  1. Spammy looking comments will be caught by this blog’s spam filtering software, so don’t leave a comment that looks like spam. Just a hint.
  2. Comments must be received between August 1st, 2009 and September 15th, 2009 11:59:59 PM PST.
  3. The winner of Prize #1 will receive one (1) copy of Proficient Motorcycling by David Hough, shipped to their door.
  4. The winner of Prize #2 will receive one (1) $10 gift certificate from Amazon.com.
  5. I will NEVER use your email address or contact info for spam or marketing purposes. Ever.

I understand that if in the remotest of circumstances that I might win, that I would have to report the fair market value of the prize as income on my next tax return. Oh well, such is life. Will you be rendering a 1099 form to the govermnent for this?
Just curious.

If the government wants to tax a small token gift between friends, it’s more than welcome to contact me to discuss the matter.

Sun-hardened SPAM can be used as a tire plug in an emergency.

What is the term you use? Just sayin’!

Who would of thought I get a chance to win the book I’ve had my eye on? :)

Thanks for the opportunity,
Carlos

@irondad: You should have mentioned a certain kind of “enhancement” drug instead!
