Voice activated, FRS for group rides? I’ve never even considered a radio on the bike before. I guess I like the peace and quiet of riding alone and still feel somewhat uncomfortable riding in a group. Never sure whether the other person is paying attention and the other riders seem to ride too close. At least too close for me.
@RichardM: I’ve found that the best group rides involve folks that 1) have comparable riding styles to mine, and 2) I’ve ridden with regularly. If you ride a lot with good riders, you’ll develop a rapport with them. The folks I ride with are way faster than I am, but we still manage to have fun together because we know each other and our tendencies and plan our regrouping spots accordingly.
This project is a custom mic and headset setup for Stacey and I, because the standard headsets that come with the radios won’t work with our helmets.
If only one could wire up the chatterbox to a loud speaker to let rude, oblivious cagers know exactly what we think.
