plumbing disaster,
two bikes that can’t go faster
than fifty-five: we
split up and make our own way
to the start of adventure

In other words, due to various circumstances, the group of 4 split up for the journey to New Pine Creek.

city gubmint’s gotta eat.
not today, suckers.

there’s a covered bridge
but no one takes a picture –
does it still exist?

“let’s take a shortcut,”
she said, expecting gravel.
surprise, it’s all sand,
sand, sand, for twenty miles.
make sand your favorite

the first tip-over:
into pillows of sand at
a fork in the road

who tipped over?
not Stacey, but the
fool who said “shortcut”

a thousand yard stare
after the “shortcut” is the
first sign of parting

Dear Stacy:

I’ve been off the beaten track for a week and I am trying to get a handle on things. Where exactly is this ride? And how come there is all this sand so far away from the beach? And I thoiught you’d had enough of off-road riding?

Sincerely,
Jack/reep

Stacy,

I love this. The Epic in Saga format.

I’m waiting and ready for more.

I love the DR-Z’s, what size is yours? Sand’s tough to ride, better to keep speed up.
