… but I’ve found myself in a bit of a rough patch personally and professionally, and fighting a two-front war has left little room for much of anything else.
Riding doesn’t bring me much joy anymore, to be honest. I ride to work. I ride back home. I repeat this 5 days a week. It’s transportation, not therapy.
As for this blog, it’s certainly not going away, but updates are going to be infrequent — at least until I can get my shit back together again. If you’d like to be informed when I resume posting new stuff, toss your email this way.
What a depressing post. Sorry about that! I appreciate every one of you who’ve been following along these past five1 years. I look forward to many years more — if I can just clear this neverending series of whoops…

- Wow, seriously, 5 years of blogging already? Just realized this and it kinda blows my mind a little. [↩]

Heck! So sorry to hear that Stacy. No time is a good time but it really sucks at this time of the year. Having gone through a few stressful times professionally, at least I have an inking of what it means to you. All I can do is wish you well to work through it all and come out the other end with a new sense of purpose. Guess it’s hard to see the bright times ahead, but they do come and quite often, they open up possibilities which you’re not expecting (and that’s from personal experience) !
All the very best
Geoff
It’s good to hear that you’re still alive and kicking. I hope that things improve for you on all fronts quickly. Take care.
Sorry that things are not going well. I myself am coming out of a very bad time of my life. Having good friends and family really pulled me through. It’s important to stay positive and work for a better tomorrow. I wont say “everything is for a reason” so many people said that to me. It always pissed me off. Just know your a good person and things will turn around. Best wishes for the new year!
Mike
I’ve only been following for a little while, but your OBDR series was amazing and you’re maintenance tips are very informative! Hang in there, time fixes a lot of problems. Hope to see more posts when you can. /wave
We’ll be waiting here for your return, best of luck!
Been wondering where you went. I’m sorry to hear that it’s been trouble that has been keeping you away.
Hope you find your way back to happiness soon.
Take Care,
R.
I will be waiting, I’m in the same position, no job and trying to figure out what to do for the future. Good luck and keep the spirits up.
Glad you are ok Stacy but sorry you are having some difficulty. Hope you are able to overcome the problems and find a silver lining which will make things better in the long haul.
I’ll be looking for you in the future. I’d still love to try and connect next time I’m in OR. Take care of yourself.

I understand the five day a week commuting thing i was stuck there for a long time in college rain sleet and snow. If you got a car drive for a week or two then you will be ready to enjoy motorcycling again. Hope to see new post soon
Hang in there Stacy. You’ll find your groove again. Stay focused on the commute and be safe.
Best,
Allaina
oh no, I’m sorry you’re having a rough time. as they say – the only way out is through – so keep your head high and do your best. I hope this patch clears up soon!
Been thinking of you. Sucks when life starts throwing curve balls. As others have said, I hope things get to looking up again soon!
All my best
kari
I’ve missed your voice. I glad to hear it again even if it was more of a peep than the tasteful roar I’ve been accustomed to.
I’m hanging in there with ya’ and looking forward to more adventures.
Sorry to hear Stacy, I hope that things turn around soon.

Hang in there Stacy, this too shall come to pass… Let us know when things settle down and get back to a more normal routine. Commuting on a bike can be very stressful at times. So, try not to loose that love for the open road.
Sometimes circumstances and priorities change. Happens to lots of bikers. You’ll be back. Believe me.
Al the best in the mean time Stacy. Go well.

Well were glad to see you’re not dead Stacy. I’m really sorry you’re having a tough time and I’m sure things will work themselves out soon. Hopefully you’ll find enough time and peace of mind to enjoy riding again in the few years.
OMG NO! Come back to us-we love you!
Take the time you need, Stacy. We’ll just mill around quietly and await your two-wheeled return.
Dear Korean Death Ray:
Never sweat the small stuff… And in the final analysis, it’s all small stuff. You are unique and significant in the lives of many. I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
Fondest regards,

I always enjoyed this place and really hope your feeling and doing better with things in the future.
This is going on to long don’t make me send out a search and rescue team. I am still waiting for an article on how to rebuild the engine
Hey now, I’ve got a couple of new goodies in the works. Look for them soon.
Ever read Ulysses? That’s about how long an engine rebuild post would turn out!
Thanks for all the support, everyone. I truly appreciate it.
One thing about time, either between posts, or as distance from events, it seems to take the edge off perception and reality. I hope your respite has offered some escape and regrouping. Sorry to hear that life has delivered discomfort. I certainly can relate to times when riding is just transportation.
Engine rebuild… yuck. New motorcycle… yum. But that’s just me.
